Stronger Muscles, Healthier Skin

Keeping our cardiovascular system healthy and having the right balance of fat and muscle tissue is key in the quest for looking younger and feeling healthier. Working out helps detoxify our bodies, and improve muscle tone, which gives our skin a better supportive structure. However, if you exercise regularly, your skin is under more stress than that of an average person. You are out in the sun more, you sweat more and you take more showers, which is why you need to use products that nourish, moisturize, soothe and restore sun damage.

You may be taking at least two showers a day if you work out regularly. Applying a moisturizing cream after every shower is recommended to help nourish and moisturize your skin. Look for mineral oil and Paraben free products that are free of any inactive substances that could be potentially harmful if applied more than once a day.

Since physical activity boosts the elimination of toxins through skin pores, everyone who regularly works out should cleanse their skin at least once a week. Natural products containing thermal water and natural dermo-abrasive trace elements leave the skin cleansed and soft without the intervention of chemicals. Another good option are scrubs and cleansing creams containing apricot seed and other 100% natural dermo-abrasive ingredients (sea salt, epsom salt, white sugar, brown sugar, etc.).

Whether you are jogging in the morning or playing tennis in the afternoon, the sun is affecting your skin. This is why you need to use sunblock no matter what time of year it is. Many good sunblocks now have deep moisturizing properties and are PABA free. After-sun products are also beneficial. A new generation of repairing complexes and lotions are now available. These state-of-the-art products dramatically help the skin recover from extended sun exposure and accelerate the creation of new skin cells.

Being physically active is one of the best choices you can make if you want to feel and look better. But remember, just like you take care of muscles and joints, you need to take care of your skin. Your goal should be: stronger muscles, healthier skin.
